Manchester experiences warm summers and cold winters. Typical summer temperatures average around 20°C (69°F) whilst winters lows can fall to 2°C (35°F). There is also regular, but light rainfall throughout the year, so it always pays to take plenty of layers as well as an umbrella on a visit to the city. The best time to visit is spring and summer (May to August) when the sun should have its hat on and events like the music festivals and Manchester Pride take place.
