About Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport (OTP)

The airport has currently undergone a €150 million improvement programme, including expansion of the Departures and Arrivals halls. A second terminal is planned for future development.

From central Bucharest, the National Route 1 (also designated E60) leads almost directly to the airport, passing Băneasa Airport on the way, which should not be confused with OTP. The airport access road leads off Route 1. The journey time from central Bucharest is 20-50 minutes, depending on traffic.

Public Transport
Public transport road:
Bus: Express bus 780 also links the airport with the Bucharest North station, while route 783 runs into the heart of the city centre. Single fare is 3.50 Lei, and buses depart regularly 24 hours a day. Journey times can vary between 30 and 60 minutes according to the time of day. A hotel shuttle service operates to selected Bucharest hotels.
Taxi: Cabs, with fares of up to 1.40 lei/km, are available at the taxi station outside of the arrivals terminal. Private taxis can also be ordered via a touch screen in the public arrivals hall. Passengers then take the automatically issued ticket to the taxi rank outside. Example fares to the city centre range from 25-45 lei (approx. €5-12), and the trip takes 20-50 minutes.
Public transport rail:
The airport railway station is less than 1km (0.6 miles) from the terminal – shuttle buses link the station with the airport. Direct trains (www.cfrcalatori.ro) run from here to Bucharest North railway station. Journey time is 20-25 minutes, and the adult single fare is 6.80 Lei.

Money:
Bureaux de change offices are located in Arrivals and Departures. There are numerous ATMs in Arrivals, and one in Departures. There are two full-service bank branches.
Food:
There is a café in Arrivals and several eateries in the public area of Departures, most of which are open 24 hours.
Shopping:
Numerous shops offer goods ranging from English language books to toys, leather goods, electronics, Romanian crafts and wines.
Luggage:
Baggage trolleys are provided free of charge, but there is no left luggage or porter service. A wrapping service is available. Lost and found desks are located in the baggage claim area.
Other:
Other facilities available at Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport include a hairdresser, a chapel, a public viewing gallery and a pharmacy. Designated areas cater to smokers.
Airport facilities
Conference and business:
There are no meetings facilities at the airport, but VIP and business lounges are open 24 hours. Conference and meeting facilities are however available at the nearby Angelo Hotel (tel: +40 21 203 6500; www.vi-hotels.com).
Communication Facilities:
Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout Henri Coandă International Airport. Public telephones are also widely available – phone cards can be bought at machines in the terminal. There is a post office between Arrivals and Departures.
Disabled facilities:
All areas of the terminal are fully accessible, with special facilities that meet EU legislation. There are designated disabled parking spaces with ramp or lift access to and from the terminal. As always, passengers requiring special assistance should pre-arrange this with their airline.
Car parking:
Short-term parking is available both at Arrivals and Departures, while long-term spaces are located a little further away.
Car rental:
Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt are among the international names represented at the airport, along with local operators. Desks are situated in the link passage between Departures and Arrivals.
