Weather in Helsinki

The pace of Helsinki life varies with the seasons. During the long days of summer, when average temperatures climb to 18°C (64°F) and above, life spills out into the streets and nights out continue most of the way through till morning. The dark, cold winters are a different story - temperatures that dip below -5°C (23°F) drive everyone inside and Helsinki starts to resemble the miniature St Petersburg that its 19th-century architects intended.
