Passports

To enter Nigeria, a passport valid for a minimum of six months at the date of arrival is required by all nationals referred to in the chart above.

Visas

Visas for Nigeria are required by all nationals referred to in the chart above.

Nationals not referred to in the chart are advised to contact the embassy/high commission to check visa requirements for visas for Nigeria.

Visa Note

You must provide evidence of a hotel booking when applying for a visa.

Please note: A health declaration must be submitted before entry. The form can be filled in online.

Types and Cost

Tourist visa:

British nationals: US$144 (single entry), US$472 (multiple entry, 1 year);

US American nationals: US$160 (single entry), US$160 (multiple entry, 1 year / 2 years);

Australian nationals: US$141 (single entry), US$176 (multiple entry, 1 year / 2 years);

Canadian nationals: US$75 (single entry), US$150 (multiple entry, 1 year / 2 years);

most EU-nationals: US$88 (single entry); US$110 (multiple entry, 1 year/ 2 years).

 

£70 (one-day express service).

Business visas are free for all nationals.

Validity

Tourist: up to six months. Multiple-entry visas are available in certain cases.

Application to

Consulate (or consular section at embassy or high commission) or online via The Nigeria Immigration Service (https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/). In the UK, you should apply through Online Integrated Solutions (OIS) (oisservices.com), which processes visas on behalf of the high commission. OIS charges an additional £20 service charge.

Working days

Allow five days for visa processing or one day for the express service.

Sufficient Funds

When applying for a visa, you must provide evidence of sufficient funds to cover your stay in Nigeria.
