From central Yangon, head north past the Hlaing University campus via the Pyay Road, which links directly to the Yangon Airport Road.

Public Transport
Public transport road:
Taxi:Taxis from the airport are plentiful and relatively cheap, with fixed fares in operation – though these tend to fluctuate depending on whether you are a local or tourist. Depending on traffic, the trip into central Yangon takes about 30 minutes and fares start at around US$6. Payment can be made in either US Dollars or Burmese Kyat, but be sure to use an authorized taxi and confirm the fare with the driver in advance.
Public transport rail:
Rail:There are two railway stations a short taxi ride from the airport terminals, where local trains (Yangon Circular Railway) link to the city’s central station. The journey time to the city is around 40-50 minutes and fares are minimal (around US$1).
From Yangon Central, trains run to Mandalay (journey time: 12-14 hours; fare: US$30-50) and other cities throughout the country. Further details can be found on the Tourism Myanmar website (www.tourismmyanmar.com).
Terminal facilities
Money:
A number of bureaux de change are available at the airport, primarily concentrated in the Arrivals areas. Numerous ATMs are also available.
Food:
There are self-service cafés in the public areas of the airport, and further dining options are offered in the international Departures VIP lounges.
Shopping:
Several shops selling local souvenirs and handicrafts are available, along with duty-free outlets in both international Arrivals and Departures. There are also jewellery and bookshops.
Luggage:
Porters are available – confirm the fee in advance – and luggage trolleys are free to use, but not allowed outside the terminal building. Left luggage is not available.
Other:
First aid facilities are available, but otherwise terminal facilities are relatively limited.
Airport facilities
Conference and business:
There are no meeting facilities at the airport, but there are five lounges, two in Domestic Departures and three in International Departures.
Conference and meeting rooms are available at the nearby MiCasa Hotel Apartments (tel: +95 1 650 933; www.myanmar.micasahotel.com), a short taxi ride from the airport. The hotel has four dedicated meeting rooms and one large function room.
Communication Facilities:
Public telephones and fixed internet stations are available in the terminals. Wi-Fi internet access is available in the International Terminal, but this is reportedly not always reliable.
Disabled facilities:
Special assistance should be arranged with the airline before travel. Otherwise, the airport is more or less on a single level, so it is relatively easy to negotiate in a wheelchair. Note that while the International Terminal is equipped with airbridges, it is necessary to board a bus to reach domestic flights.
Car parking:
Limited parking facilities are available immediately outside the Domestic Terminal.
Car rental:
It is customary to rent a car with a driver when visiting Myanmar. The various travel agency desks will advise passengers on their options.
